Abstract
The economic access to food is an important component of food security. This determines the purpose of the work, which is to analyze the economic access to food of the population of the Republic of Moldova. In this case, the methodology for analyzing indicators developed by the FAO of UN is applied. The following indicators were analyzed: consumption expenditure per capita and their structure, the dynamics of consumer food prices, purchasing power of households income per capita. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop a system of target indicators of economic access to food adapted to the conditions of the Republic of Moldova.
