dc.description.abstractThis article analysed the challenges and opportunities created by the socioeconomic integration of Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Moldova. Based on the data of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), it is estimated that over a million Ukrainian refugees have transited our country to other European destinations, and over a hundred thousand have temporarily settled in Moldova. This fact required a dedicated and prompt effort from the Republic of Moldova authorities and international organisations to integrate refugees into the Moldovan society. The social and economic integration of Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Moldova is a complex process involving a series of challenges and opportunities for refugees and host communities. The Republic of Moldova, despite its limited resources, responded promptly to these challenges through various initiatives and programs to support refugees. Continued efforts have focused on long-term integration, emphasizing employment, involvement in education and inclusion in society. Based on the studied data, some recommendations are proposed to facilitate the integration of refugees.
