Abstract

Increasing globalization has increased the importance of international cooperation, the exchange of explicit knowledge and created strong international scientific community, without reducing the importance of complex local factors in the adaptation and use of knowledge. Thus, in a constantly changing world characterized by the accelerating globalization of research and technology and the emergence of new scientific and technological powers, the European Research Area (ERA) is the basis for a European knowledge society. In such a society, research, education, training and innovation are fully mobilized to fulfill the ambitions of economic, social and environmental expectations of the EU and its citizens.
