Abstract

One of the declared intentions of the educational policies is the synchronization of the national educational system to the European life requirements, values and principles. Officially, the ministry of Education aims for „endowment of all members of the society moral, intellectual and esthetical values, as well as practical knowledge and abilities for becoming responsible and dynamic citizens, who may contribute to the development of the whole society…, building a set of abilities for the youth for the purpose of increasing the level of their participation to the socio-economic development of the country”. Within the article we set as a goal the study of some problems of the quality of the education process in the pre-university institutions of education of Republic of Moldova. For this purpose, a sociological study has been made on the academic year 2009-2010. The study used as experts professors of these undergraduate educational institutions with a work experience of over 15 years. The research includes not only Chisinau but was done also at the country level. For comparison other research and statistical data have been used.
