Abstract
It is very hard to imagine a developed economy in a modern world without consistent, sustainable energy management. Even more importance this problem gains in regard of the poor in natural resources countries as Moldova is. According to the recent research papers of Moldavian Academy of Sciences, the share of domestic energy resources in the national structure of energy use and production is extremely low and counts less than 5% in 2010. That means that more than 95% of energy used in our country is imported. Given the fact that international price indexes for natural gas and oil are constantly ascending, wise energy management is not just essential, but vital for economic growth and stability. Wide approaches to energy efficiency problems and providing efficient solutions could boost up production, increase state competitiveness, lead economy to growth and generally contribute to improving of citizens’ life conditions. One of the main directions, where energy wastes can be substantially reduced is applied to the national household sector. Being mostly comprised of absolutely inefficient residential buildings, household sector is the source of the tremendous energy misuse that must be studied and improved.
