Military actions on the territory of Ukraine have critically affected the state of food security in Ukraine and rest of the world. It has posed a number of challenges to Ukrainian agricultural sector. In this context, it is necessary to identify the main risks and assess the provision of the main types of agri-food products in the conditions of hostilities and to establish directions and prospects for further sustainable development of the agricultural sector. The aim of the article is to assess the impact of the war on food security in Ukraine and the post-war prospects of the agricultural sector in compliance with the principles of sustainable development. Research methods: general scientific and special, qualitative and quantitative, theoretical and empirical, balance method. The results. The prioritized goals set during the war and the post-war period (in short run) are to ensure food security, employment in the agri-food sector and income of a significant share of population dependent on this sector. The population should be provided with food in sufficient quantities and nomenclature, while the food surplus should be exported, taking into account the current logistics capabilities. However, the post-war development of Ukrainian agricultural sector in the long run should take place in accordance with the concept of sustainable resource-conserving agriculture, which meets the goals of conservation and reproduction of natural resources. | |
