Abstract

Greenwashing is the practice of companies that are practising the promotion of false or exaggerated images of environmental responsibility, thus affecting consumer trust and purchasing decisions. The food industry is a sector particularly susceptible to this phenomenon, due to the emphasis on “eco” products and aggressive green marketing.
