Abstract
The article presents an analysis of existing studies that reflect gender inequality on actors that influence the family's economic situation. The article reflects the persistence of unequal relations, which are often unfavorable to females in vocational training and their opportunities on the labour market compared to males. Currently, the Republic of Moldova has made progress in the gender inequality policy, which leads to a steady decrease of the Global Gender Gap Index and places Moldova on 26th place out of 144 countries (2016). The progress in gender equality is also reflected in the Gender Equality Index, which shows that although its value has improved, the increase is not insignificant, from 57 to 58 points. According to the international experience, it is demonstrated that all effective development strategies place females in a central role, and their results make a substantial contribution to human development.
