There is no doubt that the more diversified is the basket of products exported by on country, better it will do economically. Although a reciprocal relationship does exist between the two variables. Some basic macro indicators should improve when promoting policies for export diversification, as real GDP growth acceleration and its volatility reduction. Sustaining export growth and diversification became an important aim of the Moldovan authorities to be achieved through the export promotion and investments attraction Strategy implemented in 20162020. Moldovan’external trade performance is poor. It is expressed, mainly by a huge deficit of the external Trade balance and a very low share in world exports. Moldova is implementing the Roadmap on national competitiveness enhancement and the Association Agreement with EU since 2014. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the progresses Moldova have achieved to diversify its exports during the mplementation of the above mentioned policies; to improve some other relevant trade performance indicators and the link between export concentration, export and GDP evolutions. There have been selected and analyzed a set of key relevant indicators of trade performance in dynamics and in comparison with other countries from Central and Eastern Europe. For this reason, energy security research and evaluation of the efficiency of the domestic energy sector is relevant. The authors have studied the conceptual delimitations on energy security and efficiency, have investigated the pillars and factors influencing security, estimation methods and efficiency indicators, have evaluated the energy efficiency of the Republic of Moldova. The main purpose is to identify those goods and groups of commodities whose specialization in manufacturing would ensure sustainable economic growth. Research has shown that the structure of exports is dominated by primary products with extremely low added value and goods that are made from clients' materials. The author reveals some priorities of the Strategy of Science Evolution Moldova - 2020, which is aimed at the efficient use of intellectual potential by stimulating innovation, human capital consolidation and attraction of young researchers to develop research capacity in high schools and universities.Item The access to finance in Moldova - banking compared to microfinance organizations(“Victor Slăvescu” Centre for Financial and Monetary Research, 2013) Popa, VioricaThe objective of this article is the comparative analysis of the banking sector with the non-bank sector of the Republic of Moldova, by the elucidation of the main trends of development of microfinance and banking institution in the last five years, as being reflected by the improvement of all indicators. In this article, the author analyses the microfinance institutions in Moldova through the financial soundness indicators (the degree of financial intermediation). In the first part of the article, the author analyses the main trends in the microfinance sector compared to the banking sector in recent years, requiring the implementation of an effective and coherent strategic management for banking and non- performing strategies and to maintain the financially stability through appropriate policies administration and risk management. A very suggestive remark about the author is the difficult access to finance in Moldova, representing a particular importance to any economy. In this context, the shocks arising from the financial and economic crisis have affected both credit supply and demand as well. Thus, the existence of appropriate strategic policy to minimize risk in a bank and microfinance institution, condition a management with a high level of professionalism and quality.
