Abstract

The socio-economic situation in the Republic of Moldova, as well as throughout the world, is in a deep crisis, caused primarily by the coronavirus COVID-19. At the same time, it remains not only complex, but also largely undefined. But in addition to this factor, the population in the country is rapidly decreasing, caused by both a decrease in the birth rate and mass migration of citizens abroad. And these destructive processes in recent years have been greatly aggravated by the outpacing reduction in the number of students in grades 10-12, vocational schools, colleges and universities. This was largely a consequence of a decrease in the demand for highly educated personnel, both in the sphere of production and in national science. And this is a path to degradation that requires not only its awareness, but also a strategic approach to changing these negative trends.
