Abstract
Women constitute a major occupational group of a country’s labour force. Gender equality is an issue that came into the vision of society not so long ago. Authorities from many countries developed policies oriented towards women’s emancipation, to help them penetrate all the spheres of social life, however unequal approach of women in comparison to men continues to prevail in many spheres, including the occupational one. Differences of treatment in labour relations affect women and influence their capacity of professional and social development. The Republic of Moldova doens’t make an exception for gender discrimination in the labour market.
