    Tourism industry in the Republic of Moldova amid Covid-19 pandemic

    Being a highly vulnerable industry, tourism was one of the most affected sectors, suffering the greatest crisis on record. The article reveals the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism industry in the Republic of Moldova. There were explored the effects of the pandemic on tourism in the country and analysed the current situation in hospitality and tourism industry compared to the pre-pandemic period. The analysis showed that while the world saw an unprecedent fall in international tourism, domestic tourism has shown positive signs in the market. Also, it was highlighted that the tourism industry is undergoing changes, being mainly affected by economic factors, geopolitical situation and technological advancements. Main trends and challenges for tourism development in the Republic of Moldova were identified.

    Rolul politicilor publice în dezvoltarea ecosistemului antreprenorial

    The article reveals the role of public policies in the development of entrepreneurial ecosystem. Based on the literature review and the analysis of foreign public policies, there was examined the experience of a number of countries and determined that government policies in some countries are mainly focused on supporting start-ups, while in others are concentrated on promoting high-growth firms, scale-ups. Also, there were examined the typology of policy frameworks and highlighted general principles and main aspects of policy for entrepreneurial ecosystems.

    Rolul creditării bancare în finanțarea întreprinderilor din Republica Moldova

    The article reveals the problem of SMEs access to finance and the role played by banks in financing entrepreneurial activity. The purpose of the research is to analyse the role of bank lending in financing enterprises in the Republic of Moldova. Research methods used: literature review, analysis of statistical data, comparison and synthesis. It was determined that banks are the main providers of external financing for businesses. At the same time, enterprises encounter difficulties in accessing bank loans due to high interest rates, collateral requirements. Thus, in the current economic conditions, a number of SMEs encountered difficulties in paying loans. It was stated that in addition to improving the accessibility of traditional sources of financing, it is important to diversify and promote alternative sources of financing.

    Alternative de finanțare a afacerii în Republica Moldova

    Financing business activities represent one of the pressing issues. In current conditions of digital transformation and difficulties in accessing traditional financing, alternative sources of finance acquire a special importance. At the same time, the knowledge regarding alternative finance market in the Republic of Moldova is yet in its infancy. Therefore, the article aims at exploring modern trends, issues and opportunities of alternative finance in the Republic of Moldova. In order to achieve the objective of the study, a mixed research approach, based on both primary and secondary data, was used: analysis of statistical data, international rankings, comparison, synthesis, deduction. There was determined the impact of different sources of finance on entrepreneurship development. The alternative finance market in the Republic of Moldova was analysed, showing that despite a rise in recent years, alternative sources of financing are still poorly developed.

    Alternative sources of enterprise financing and the impact of COVID-19 pandemic

    In current conditions of digital transformation and difficulties in accessing traditional financing, alternative sources of finance acquire particular importance. At the same time, the knowledge regarding the alternative finance market is yet in its infancy, with little evidence of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the alternative finance market in Moldova. Therefore, the article aims to explore financing alternatives for enterprises in Moldova and determine the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the alternative finance market. Additionally, there were analysed data from other reference countries. In order to achieve the objective of the study, a mixed research approach, based on both primary and secondary data, was used: analysis of statistical data, international rankings, comparison, synthesis, deduction, as well as a questionnaire-based survey designed for small and medium-sized enterprises. SMEs have proven to be vulnerable to crises. The alternative finance market in Moldova was analysed, showing that despite a rise in recent years, alternative sources of financing are still poorly developed. The study shows that enterprises face the biggest problems in accessing venture capital, financing on the securities market and use of electronic platforms to attract funding (crowdfunding, cryptocurrencies, etc.). At the same time, there was registered an improvement in accessing crowdfunding since the beginning of the pandemic.Generally, obtained results are essential for further research, practitioners and in determining measures to facilitate access to finance.

    Finanțarea întreprinderilor mici și mijlocii: dificultăți și perspective

    Access to finance represents one of the major constraints of SMEs, especially in current conditions of pandemic crisis. The article aims to determine main difficulties and prospects in financing SMEs in the Republic of Moldova. In order to achieve the objective of the study, following research methods were used: literature review, analysis of indicators from international rankings, comparison and synthesis. SMEs have proven to be vulnerable to crises, with insufficient access to finance, limited internal procedures for managing crises, poorly developed alternative sources of financing. Thus, a number of measures are needed to support SMEs: financial support, development of alternative sources of funding, technical support for better finance and risk management and other measures.

    Aspecte privind discrepanța dintre cererea și oferta pe piața muncii în Republica Moldova

    Human capital represents a key resource for the development of the national economy. At the same time, the discrepancy between supply and demand in the labor market is one of the stringent constraints. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problem of the discrepancy between the qualifications of workers and the needs of the labor market, as well as to identify trends in the labor market for determining main skills of the future. The analysis of the quality of human capital and the discrepancy between the supply and demand of the labor force showed a weak level of the quality of the professional training, not being registered a significant improvement of the situation in the field. The results of the study may be useful for decision makers and may serve as a basis for further research.

    Aspecte privind accesul la finanțare a intreprinderilor mici și mijlocii în era COVID-19

    In lucrarea data au fost determinate dificultațile de accesare a finanțarii intalnite de IMM-uri, in special in condițiile crizei COVID-19. IMM-urile au dovedit a fi vulnerabile la crize, cu acces insuficient la finanțare, proceduri interne pentru gestionarea situațiilor de criza limitate, surse alternative de finanțare slab dezvoltate, fiind necesare un șir de masuri de susținere a IMM-urilor.

    Primele manifestări ale crizei socio-economice generate de Covid-19 în Republica Moldova

    Conform prognozelor FMI din Iunie 2020, în anul curent economia mondială va fi în declin cu 4,9% comparativ cu anul precedent, criza anticipată fiind una mai profundă comparativ cu cea din anul 2009. Pronosticurile sunt foarte pesimiste pentru liderii mondiali: în țările membre ale Zonei Euro se anticipează undeclin de aproape 10% f.a.p., iar în Statele Unite ale Americii de 8%. Estimările sunt, negative și pentru Europa emergentă și în curs de dezvoltare, nemijlocit Rusia și România, parteneri economici importanți ai Moldovei. Totodată, se pare că aceste state ar putea fi marcate de o recesiune mai puțin profundă, comparativ cu alte state înalt dezvoltate.
