Insurance markets are recognized worldwide as important financial market actors and as factors of economic growth generation. Investment possibilities are determined by impressive financial resources managed by insurance companies. In this article we would like to analyze the factors that determine insurance investment sources and present instruments for analyzing insurance companies' investment potential.Item Exploring Moldovan educational offerings and predicting competences in intelligent specialization domains: a comprehensive study(2024) Gribincea, Corina; Ungur, CristinaThis paper examines the challenges hindering the alignment of skills with labor market demands in Moldova. Two main issues are identified: first, the educational system’s inability to respond adequately to labor market needs, resulting in a significant disparity between required skills and those produced by educational programs. This disconnect may stem from outdated curriculum, inadequately trained specialists lacking updated knowledge, and skills relevant to contemporary industries. Second, there exists a weak strategic collaboration between key stakeholders, notably between companies and educational institutions. Insufficient collaboration hampers efforts to identify skills gaps and tailor educational offerings to meet industry requirements. The repercussions of these challenges are profound, as the shortage of qualified personnel impedes enterprise performance and necessitates the curtailment of development plans and production indicators for many employers. Addressing these issues requires concerted efforts to bridge the gap between education and industry and foster stronger partnerships between stakeholders to ensure a more responsive and effective labor market. O analiză bazată pe teorie și practică(INCE, 2017) Timus, Angela; Ungur, CristinaCreșterea economică durabilă în contextul unui progres exponențial al informației și inovării trebuie să fie susținută prin investiții considerabile. În cadrul pieței investiționale, un rol important revine companiilor de asigurări care, în calitatea sa de asigurator, dețin volume considerabile de fluxuri fiind implicate în redistribuirea de fonduri pe piața investițională. Astfel, aspectul investițional al asigurărilor este prezentat într-o tratare sistemică prin analiza teoriilor și modelelor care evidențiază conexiunea asigurărilor cu investițiile. Metodele de studiu aplicate sunt tradiționale: analiza și sinteza, observația și prezentarea grafică. Pentru a realiza o analiză empirică a potențialului investițional al sectorului de asigurări au fost folosite metode de analiză statistică a datelor, dar și procedee şi tehnici eonomico-financaire. Lucrarea conchide prin determinarea factorilor care contribuie la dezvoltarea sectorului de asigurări, a premiselor și a posibilităților de valorificare a potențialului investițional al companiilor de asigurare.Item Posibilități de implementare a practicilor internaționale în dezvoltarea afacerilor circulare din Republica Moldova(INCE, 2022) Ungur, CristinaThe implementation of circular business models becomes imperative under the conditions of the energy crisis that appeared at the European level this year. Governments and the business environment are required to look for urgent solutions for the transition to an economy based on alternative energy resources. In this context, taking over successful practices and sharing experience become the fastest methods to adopt circular business models. The purpose of this study was to analyze the experience of other states in the development of successful circular businesses and to identify the possibilities of implementing these practices in the Republic of Moldova. The research analyzed the activity of nine companies from four countries that operate based on circular models, in particular - the Circular Suppliers business model. At the same time, companies from the Republic of Moldova that develop businesses based on renewable, biodegradable or recyclable resources were identified and analyzed. The analyzes allowed establishing the opportunities and challenges existing at the national level in order to carry out a circular business. The areas where the principle of circularity can be implemented in the Republic of Moldova were identified and the resources that can be used in the most efficient way were determined. This study was developed within the State Program 20.80009.0807.22 Development of the mechanism of formation of the circular economy in the Republic of Moldova.Item Circular business models: challenges and opportunities(Artifex, 2022) Ungur, CristinaThe linear economy based on depletable resources, with a negative impact on the environment, can no longer be accepted. Awareness of thisissue has led to changes in the international policy that entrepreneurs and consumers must comply with. As the European Union has set itself the goal of moving to a fully circular economy over the next three decades, entrepreneurs in the EU and in associated countries have to find ways toadopt circular business models. In this study we aimed to describe the challenges that arise in the process of transition to the circular economy and to present the opportunities of this transition. The mechanisms and tools to support circular business were analyzed on the basis of data from the Republic of Moldova in order to encourage local entrepreneurs to conduct circular business. The research was based on the analysis of policy papers, scientific articles, studies and reports prepared by international organizations specializing in the circular economy. As a result of the research, we have shown that through the joint effort of society and the authorities, mechanisms can be created to support the circular business that will drive the transition to a circular economy. Tranziția spre modele sustenabile de dezvoltare reprezinta o necesitate stringenta fara de care omenirea nu va supraviețui in urmatoarele decenii. In acest articol am urmarit scopul de a prezenta soluțiile financiare care pot fi aplicate pentru a asigura o tranziție amiabila a antreprenorilor din Republica Moldova spre un model ”verde” de activitate. In cadrul prezentei cercetari am analizat legislația fiscala naționala in domeniul mediului, am sistematizat principalele instrumente financiare de susținere a economiei verzi care exista in practica mondiala și am evaluat impactul implementarii acestor instrumente la nivel național. Studiul efectuat a condus la formularea unei serii de recomandari pentru autoritați in vederea promovarii practicilor verzi in domeniul antreprenorial. In concluzie, am stabilit ca aplicarea corecta și echilibrata a instrumentelor financiare poate contribui la crearea unei noi economii – eficiente, inofensive și responsabile. The political instability had its consequences causing disturbances, especially on the bank market. At the same time, the global financial crisis has had a direct impact on the national financial market as well, reducing thus the investment potential in the bank and non-bank financial sector, especially of the foreign investors. Notwithstanding the insurance market of the Republic of Moldova has registered a growth during this period. The paper presents an analysis of the insurance market in terms of its investment potential and tries to explain the behavior of the insurance products’ consumers in the conditions of the actual financial and economic crisis.Item Insurers funds and their impact on the economy(,,Victor Slăvescu” Centre For Financial And Monetary Research, 2014) Ungur, CristinaInsurance companies have significant net flows of cash, stemming especially from insurance premiums paid by clients. These funds are an important source of stable funding for public authorities, SMEs, banks and other companies. In this article we present the dimensions of funds held by insurance companies and show the impact of these funds on an economy. We will focus on the role of insurance as a provider of long-term financing, but also on their importance in reducing economic uncertainty, their contribution to maintaining social stability and support innovation .Item Financial assistance forthe small and medium-sized enterprises’transition effort to “green economy”in the Republic of Moldova(Performantica, 2019) Gribincea, Corina; Ungur, Cristina; Ciobanu, Mihail; Lucasenco, EugeniaSMEs in their transition to the green economy are facing a number of barriers and constraints in many directions, from both employees and management, as well as from state institutions, suppliers, consumers, other companies and entities, which stops or it only slows this transition. The Republic of Moldova, following the path of the economic development model in the field of export, needs the transformation and modernization of the economy, innovative growth and efficient policies. The green economy has become a symbol of a more sustainable economy and society, which protects the environment for future generations, without allowing any group of people or countries to be isolated. The article studies the priority directions of development and transition to the green and circular economy in the EU and the Republic of Moldova, the regulatory barriers and constraints in the field, as well as the financial instruments for influencing the actors in the economic sector.
