    Competitiveness of Moldova’s Agri-food Trade: Challenges and Perspectives

    One of the conditions for increasing the competitiveness of the national economy of Moldova is the promotion of the export of competitive goods. Considering that the Republic of Moldova is mainly relying on its agri-food sector, and it was granted the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union, the object of research is the Competitiveness of Moldova’s Agrifood Trade. The principal purpose of this study is to determine the directions for modernizing the structure of the agri-food complex to increase its competitiveness in the context of deepening the integration processes in the European space. The authors assessed the trends and prospects for the trade of food products and agricultural raw materials between Moldova and European Union countries. In this aim statistical and econometric methods were applied. The results of the study showed that a promising direction in the development of economic relations between Moldova and the European Union was the formation of clusters with a high potential for competitiveness. For a better integration into the European food products market with minimal loss, there is a strong need in establishing direct economic links and implementation of joint investment projects.

    Economia Republicii Moldova la 25 ani: căutări, erori şi eşecuri

    Din momentul obţinerii autonomiei politico-economice, Republica Moldova, la fel ca şi alte state din fostul lagăr socialist, după destrămarea acestuia, a ales calea edificării unui stat din temelie nou, cu drepturi depline ca subiect internaţional, suveran, democratic în baza promovării reformelor cardinale în economie pe principiile relaţiilor de piaţă. A fost determinată direcţia strategică geo-politică – calea spre Europa, cu integrarea în Comunitatea Europeană. Schimbările survenite în sfera politică, realizările privind consolidarea democraţiei, reformele instituţionale, formarea bazei juridice au contribuit la crearea condiţiilor pentru avansarea spre o economie de piaţă funcţională. Articolul trasează principalele reușite, dar și eșecuri ale dezvoltării economiei naționale în această perioadă.

    Un model nou de stabilire a tarifelor în energetică, economie și servicii

    In this paper is made the analysis of the impact of energy resources‘ tariffs on the national economy. Dynamics of macroeconomic indices was analyzed in omparable prices, correlated to the base year. Studying the dynamics of energy resources‘tariffs has shown that their index considerably exceeds the index of macroeconomic indicators in real terms. This gap has led to a decrease in the growth rate of both the branches of national economy and the economy as a whole, at the same time generating inflationary processes, which in turn led to a reduction in the welfare of the population. We conclude that the rate of increase of energy resources‘ tariffs should not exceed the growth rate of macroeconomic indices. A new model for analyzing macroeconomic indicators is proposed and approaches are made to regulate the balanced development of the national economy.
