The definition of innovative risk is specified. The innovative risks are classified according to the proposed criteria (the stage of the innovative process, the innovative activity object, the insurability). The efficiency of insurance as one of the method of risk management in innovative activity based on the matrixes of innovative risk-management is established. After a comparative analysis innovative risks insurance markets the authors identified features of the insurance practice.
