The Republic of Moldova is one of the countries strongly affected by migration. Both men and women are involved in migration processes, especially those aged 25- 34 who frequently have children at home. The given article presents the impact of parents' migration on children’s opinions. Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews (4 interviews conducted by child researchers and 2 by adult researchers) and focus group discussions (2 discussions moderated by adult researchers) and present children's perception of migration, including their attitudes towards parents’ migration. The research results highlight children's communication with their absent parents, the psycho-social effects, and the migration impact on the children's physical and mental health. Last but not least, the article includes suggestions for children left behind by migration to peers in a similar situation, including recommendations to the Republic of Moldova authorities. The research was developed within the European Union project CASTLE: Children left behind as a result of labor migration: supporting Moldovan and Ukrainian transnational families in the European Union coordinated by Babeș-Bolyai University and the Terre des hommes Romania Foundation.othermigrationlabor migrationparent migrationchildren migrationfamilies at a distancetransnational familiesmigratia fortei de muncafamilii la distantafamilii transnationale migratia parintilorRepublic of MoldovaRepublica MoldovaImpactul migrației părinților în opinia copiilorArticle
