JEL Classification: I31, I32, I38.The article describes the methodological approaches adopted in Republic of Moldova to the definition of the poverty line and the calculation of the main indicators of poverty. The analysis of the dynamics of the level, depth and severity of absolute and extreme poverty for 2014-2018 was carried out and it was concluded that the values of these indicators have decreased. In connection with the introduction of some changes in the methodology of the household budget survey, the main poverty indicators for 2019 were analyzed separately.
